Refrigerant R-409A Freon

Freon™ 409A (R-409A) Refrigerant

Freon™ 409A carries an ASHRAE A1 safety classification and blends R-22, R-142b, and R-124. It can be used in medium- and low-temperature positive displacement equipment.

Used as a retrofit for R-12 in stationary positive displacement air-conditioning (AC) and refrigeration systems.
Original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) recommend using either mineral oil (MO) or alkylbenzene (AB) oil when replacing R-12 with Freon™ 409A. Many applications don't require oil replacement; consult your OEM to find out when AB oil must be used.
